At the weekend we visited some family who live within a stones the of the beautiful Daventry Country Park. So the kids all grabbed their scooters and we went for a lovely walk to check out the views!
We had a really nice (but very windy!!) walk around some of the park, and it was very buggy friendly which was fantastic for us and the scooters. The views across the reservoir were absolutely stunning!
There is a fantastic cafe selling hot and cold food, a variety of drinks and snacks, including sweets and ice creams! We stopped off for a hot cup of tea to shelter from the wind for a few minutes. There are also picnic areas scattered around the park. Toilets are also located at the cafe.
There is lots to do at the country park, from fishing, open water swimming (in season), feeding the ducks (food is available at the cafe), fitness equipment, nature trails and of course lovely walks.
However, the highlight for the kiddos (and probably us too!) is the incredible adventure playground. This park was absolutely huge with so much to do and the boys were so excited when we reached it.
There is a castle-themed fort with slides, a net bridge, a trampoline, a climbing wall, a variety of swings, a spring-mounted jeep ride, a smaller fort for toddlers, a zip wire and so much more! All set within the beautiful trees and located right next to the car park!
This park was ideal for all ages And we honestly could have stayed there for hours. We stayed until it was getting dark and then took a stroll back to the house.
We are very jealous of our lovely relatives for having this on their doorstep, and look forward to visiting again
