I had my first experience of the Illuminated Light Trail a few years ago at Blenheim Palace and have been a regular ever since.  Christmas at Blenheim Palace returns for 2024 and with a Neverland theme, it’s stunning!

It feels like everything is on an ever bigger scale this year from the moment you spot the illuminted ferris wheel to the buzz in the market.

Blenheim Place Illuminated Trail

The Christmas Lights at Blenheim Palace is one of the major UK light trails and this year feels like there’s more, although like last year it’s one side of the palace that’s lit up and not the other but you do get the most amazing light show with dancing fountains on the lake.

They change it up a little each year to include a mix of LED lights, lasers, fire and all set to festive tunes.  There’s a really good variety with plenty of photo opporunities along the way.  The highlight has to be the fountains and it’s a great spot to stop halfway round.  Worth noting the churrios are £7 at the fountains and £5.50 if you get them at the start/end in the market.  There are fires here for toasting marshmallows too.

Neverland in the Palace

Inside the Palace, they have excelled with Neverland.  By far my favourite and it felt like these were more than displays each year in the stunning rooms and with so much creativity and little details.

Coming home this evening, my kids were telling me about lots of details I hadn’t noticed so make sure to spend the time exploring. There are little fairies and all sorts hidden!

JM Barrie gifted the rights to Peter Pan to Great Ormond Street Hospital in 1929 and Blenheim Palce are supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity this Christmas.

Christmas Ice Skating

New for 2024 is an real ice rink set in the Palace courtyard.  It’s undercover but a decent size for some festive skating.  You can hire skates and penguins to hold on to for little ones.

Blenheim Palace Christmas Market

until Sunday 22nd December shoppers and foodies can escape the bustle of The High Street and stock-up on festive goodies at the celebrated Christmas Market in The Great Court. Entrance to the market will be daily from 10.30 am – 20.30 pm.
