Easter Egg Hunt at Chedworth Roman Villa
23 March @ 10:00 am - 1 April @ 3:30 pm
Make your way along the trail and find fun activities for the whole family on the Chedworth Roman Villa Easter egg trail.
The trail takes place between 23 March and 1 April 2024, from 10h00 to 15h30, with last entry at 15h00, so come along and explore the beautiful scenery at Chedworth Roman Villa. Prices are £3 per trail which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and dairy or vegan and Free From* chocolate egg. *Suitable for people with milk, egg, gluten, peanut and tree nut allergies.
Chedworth’s Easter Trail will be full of Roman-inspired games and activities. Families will begin by creating their own unique mosaic patterns before moving to the Nymphaeum (Water Shrine) to taste water from the natural spring which was the life source of the Villa almost two thousand years ago.
The Upper Courtyard will provide the space for families to ‘Dress a Roman’ as well as race, dance, and freestyle their way around a Roman ‘chariot arena’. A fun spotter challenge in the Museum is the next stop before families count the pillars in the famous pilae room (part of the underfloor heating system).
Identifying mystery smells from the kitchen will be the next stop on the trail followed by a photo at Chedworth’s Latrine Bench where families can find out more about Roman toilet habits. The trail finishes on a high with a giant mosaic puzzle and beanbag throwing at life-size Roman soldiers.
