Macbeth – Adapted for a family audience at The Great Barn Festival
18 September, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
£8Shakespeare adapted for a family audience
Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s best know tragedies of greed, ambition, and desire for power. In this production Macduff invites you to hear his haunting tale of the murderous Macbeth’s and how they tore his and Scotland’s life apart. Set in the original story time of 1040, these dark age warriors recreate their broadsword battles, witches dances and bloody horror.
The production has witches, warriors and ghosts supported by our audience of rapping ‘wraith-ravens’ where they join in as the chorus with ‘Hubble Bubble’ rap.’
Using mainly modern English, this interactive show fully encourages audience participation and provides a great introduction to the inventiveness of Shakespeare. Due to the nature of the subject matter, this show isn’t suitable for very young children.
Suitable for age 8+
Tickets cost £8 each and include a Great Barn Festival Day Pass for the Saturday to access all the free activities on site.
